The opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Application Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in our Transformers portfolio to ensure customer trust, communicate technical preferences, provide training, and present Hitachi Energy transformer solutions. You will lead regional business development and sales of Transformer solutions, including digitalization initiatives, market trend analysis, and growth strategies. You will develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with global objectives to increase customer engagement through front-end teams, distribution channels, and promotion of digital and sustainable transformer solutions.

How you'll make an impact

  • Support global transformer strategy deployment within the HUB, focusing on customer engagement and business growth.
  • Assist sales and execution teams throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-tender activities to post-delivery support.
  • Organize and conduct technical trainings, webinars, and presentations to demonstrate industry-leading knowledge.
  • Translate transformer design experience into customer-relevant knowledge.
  • Lead regional Application Engineering and Business Development activities, understanding market trends and driving growth.
  • Support customer technical trainings, industry conferences, customer visits, and tender negotiations.
  • Provide internal technical training and customer relationship management, including during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and post-order support.
  • Develop KPIs and targets for the transformer portfolio to monitor activities and outcomes.
  • Contribute to market planning and ensure all customer interactions are documented in SFDC.
  • Create technical presentations and support marketing and sales activities with deep technical understanding.
  • Support the GPG/BL team with customer feedback, market analysis, and competitive landscape insights.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Uphold Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity.
Your background
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical roles related to transformers, including design and customer interaction in tender or order execution processes.
  • Technical skills in transformers and ability to connect technical and marketing teams within the HUB.
  • Intercultural sensitivity and excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 35%.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
