Introduction

An Agritalent client, a niche agribusiness, seeks an Animal Feeds Technical Advisor. The position is not office based, and applicants need not reside in Mpumalanga. Travel to the feed factory in Edenville will be required from time to time. This position reports directly to the Managing Director of the Feed Factory.

Duties & Responsibilities

ROLE PURPOSE: Promote the sale of the range of the Company's products, and provide technical and product support as required by the Company, customers and prospects.

Achieve weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual sales budgets and objectives for the region, increase sales volumes and margins, and improve the viability of farms and farmers. Always put Sernick first in all planning, sales, decision making and planned activities.

  • Development and implement a marketing/sales strategy for the Mpumalanga province
  • Product development
  • Technical advice and support to clients and prospective clients
  • Manage overall customer satisfaction
  • Meet sales targets as agreed with the Managing Director
  • Budgeting and costing
  • Provide detailed weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual feedback on actual sales and forecasts
  • Direct client liaison and support
  • Aggressive research into sales opportunities
  • Aggressively target identified sales opportunities
  • Adapt to operational requirements and cross‑functionally support others within the Group
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Qualification in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related field (e.g., B / B.Sc).
  • Professional SACNASP registration as an animal nutritionist.
  • A minimum of 3 years' managerial experience in the sales and marketing of animal nutrition.
  • Advanced computer literacy in MS Office, especially MS Excel.
  • Own reliable vehicle with a valid drivers' licence.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive professional relationships.
  • Excellent selling, negotiation, and communication skills in both English and Afrikaans.
  • Prioritising, time management, and organisational skills; able to work remotely and mostly independently.
  • Clear criminal record.
