Qualifications

The Opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced Analytical Engineer for one of South Africa's leading banking institutions.

This is not a traditional Data Engineering role.

We are specifically looking for someone with deep expertise in Data Modelling, SQL, Data Vault 2.0, and the ability to transform complex business requirements into trusted, analytics-ready data products.

You will work closely with Business, Data Engineering, Architecture and Analytics teams to design governed data models, validate enterprise data and deliver high-quality datasets that support reporting, advanced analytics and strategic decision making.

If your experience is primarily Power BI development, software development, infrastructure engineering or database administration, this role will not be suitable.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Designing enterprise analytical data models using Data Vault 2.0 and dimensional modelling techniques
• Translating business requirements into scalable analytical data structures
• Performing detailed data profiling, data discovery and source system analysis
• Building trusted, analytics-ready datasets for enterprise reporting and decision-making
• Developing complex SQL transformations across large enterprise data environments
• Working with Azure Databricks and modern cloud data platforms
• Validating data quality, completeness and business rules
• Applying enterprise data governance, lineage and metadata standards
• Collaborating with Data Engineers, Architects, Business Analysts and business stakeholders
• Supporting Agile delivery teams and enterprise data initiatives
