Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS and company policies.
- Support IFRS 17 and related insurance accounting implementations and operational processes.
- Collaborate with actuarial and finance teams to align data models and valuation methodologies.
- Maintain and configure accounting systems and general ledgers (e.g., Sage Evolution).
- Develop and maintain advanced financial models and spreadsheets for reporting and analysis.
- Ensure strong internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance with corporate governance principles.
- Present financial insights and communicate complex technical information to non-financial stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Actuarial Science.
- Professional accounting qualification or membership with a recognised accounting body (strongly preferred).
- Postgraduate diploma or certification in IFRS or insurance accounting (advantageous).
- 35 years experience in financial reporting or accounting.
- At least 12 years experience in an IFRS implementation or insurance environment.
- In-depth understanding of IFRS measurement models (GMM, PAA, VFA).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong financial modelling ability.
- Experience working with accounting systems and general ledger configuration.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professional conduct.
Valid drivers license and reliable transport.
