Job summary

The role requires a valid AVSEC certificate, security experience in aviation, and excellent communication. You will operate in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, and participate in ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Requires South African citizenship or permanent residency.
• Valid Aviation Security Officer certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Proven security experience, preferably in an airport or aviation environment.
• Strong understanding of aviation security regulations and procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse groups.
• Ability to remain decisive under pressure and manage risks.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough security screenings of passengers, baggage, and cargo.
• Monitor security incidents and respond, coordinating with authorities as needed.
• Perform surveillance and patrols of airport facilities.
• Enforce compliance with aviation security regulations and procedures.
• Prepare detailed incident and daily security operation reports.
• Assist passengers with security procedures and information.
• Collaborate with airport personnel to enhance security measures.
• Attend ongoing training on security trends and regulatory changes.
