About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable and robust AI solutions, with a primary focus on Natural Language Processing.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for NLP-based AI systems.
• Evaluate and select appropriate NLP models, algorithms, and tools for specific use cases.
• Oversee the development and implementation of NLP solutions, ensuring alignment with architectural principles.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to deliver end-to-end AI solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on NLP best practices and emerging trends.
• Develop proof-of-concepts and prototypes to demonstrate the value of NLP solutions.
• Ensure solutions are optimized for performance, cost, and maintainability within the Pretoria office context.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, AI, or a related field.

• Proven experience in architecting and delivering complex AI solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of NLP techniques (e.g., text classification, named entity recognition, machine translation, topic modeling, sentiment analysis).
