Job summary

AES Global in Cape Town is seeking an AI Implementation Engineer to bridge technical development and client delivery. You’ll work with clients to understand needs, scope AI opportunities, and design, build and deploy AI-powered solutions that deliver measurable value.

The role requires a software development background, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and hands-on experience with AI platforms, APIs and cloud integrations. In-office role based in Cape Town.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or similar.
• At least 1 year of software development or technical implementation experience.
• A strong understanding of software-development principles and system integrations.
• A genuine interest in AI, machine learning, generative AI and automation.
• Experience working directly with clients or stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Run client meetings and workshops to understand business challenges and spot AI opportunities.
• Gather and document requirements, and translate them into practical AI and automation solutions.
• Scope AI projects — technical requirements, timelines and success metrics.
• Design, build, configure and deploy AI-powered agents and automation, integrating with clients’ existing systems.
• Test, monitor and optimise solutions for reliability, scalability and performance, and troubleshoot issues.
• Build proof-of-concepts, present them to stakeholders, and help convert them into commercial engagements.
• Track solution performance and adoption, and report on the ROI achieved.

• Previous consulting, implementation or solutions-engineering experience
