Placements24 is seeking an AI Ethics and Governance Specialist in Mahikeng, North West to develop and oversee ethical AI policies and governance. You will assess AI systems for risks, guide responsible design, and ensure compliance with evolving regulations.

You will train teams, collaborate with legal and business stakeholders, and promote transparent, accountable AI practices while staying informed on societal impacts and regulatory developments.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Ethics, Law, Computer Science, Policy, Philosophy, or Social Sciences.
• 3+ years of experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, data governance, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and their potential ethical implications.
• Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks concerning AI and data privacy (e.g., GDPR, POPIA).
• Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to translate complex ethical and technical concepts into actionable guidance.
• Experience in policy development or risk management is a plus.
