Placements24 is seeking an AI Ethicist & Governance Specialist to join our Benoni team. You will develop ethical frameworks and governance policies for AI projects, and conduct risk assessments to ensure fair, transparent, and responsible AI deployment.

The role requires a strong background in AI ethics, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to translate complex principles into practical guidance for cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Philosophy, Ethics, Law, Computer Science, or a related field with a specialization in AI ethics.
• 3+ years of experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, or technology governance.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and their ethical implications.
• Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, AI Act principles).
• Excellent analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Experience developing policies and guidelines.
• Ability to translate complex ethical principles into practical guidance.
• Familiarity with different AI techniques and their potential biases.
• Passion for advancing responsible technology development.
