Job summary

WeconnectU, a proudly South African SaaS company serving the property management industry, seeks a hands-on Quality Engineer to join the RAMS team. You will build automated tests across the stack, from backend Laravel/PHP tests to Playwright end-to-end tests, and perform API and financial workflow testing.

You will work closely with Developers from the start to curb risks, continuously improve testing coverage, and apply AI tools to enhance speed and quality.

Qualifications

• 3+ years QA testing experience in a software development environment.
• Practical experience writing and maintaining automated tests.
• Experience with Playwright and TypeScript.
• Exposure to PHP/Laravel feature and unit tests.
• Experience with API testing, including validating responses, behaviour and edge cases.
• Experience working in an Agile, cross-functional or shift-left development environment.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools used for test design, debugging and code review.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain backend feature and unit tests within Laravel/PHP, collaborating with Developers to improve coverage.
• Build and maintain Playwright and TypeScript automated tests for critical end-to-end journeys.
• Perform API testing and validate contracts and edge cases.
• Test financial workflows end-to-end or related processes.
• Collaborate with Developers from the start to identify risks early in development.
• Review requirements and acceptance criteria to ensure testability and coverage.
• Contribute to a strong shift-left testing culture within the squad.
• Investigate, reproduce and diagnose defects and customer-reported issues.
• Participate in support triage rotation with Customer Success.
