Job summary

RWS is seeking AI Conversation Recording Contributors for a Siswati speech data collection project. This freelance, work-from-home role offers flexible, task-based work (roughly 2–4 hours daily) with an immediate start. Project duration is to be confirmed, and compensation is 8 USD per hour.

Contributors will record natural speech, annotate data, and provide metadata. A quiet space, a computer microphone, and reliable internet are required.

This short project offers an opportunity to evaluate and improve speech recognition and conversational AI technologies by providing spontaneous speech collected from real-life situations.

How Your Recordings Will Be Used

The collected recordings, annotations, and related metadata will be used to evaluate the spontaneous speech capabilities of speech-enabled AI models. The compiled data may be reviewed for quality and incorporated into datasets used for research, development, testing, and improvement of AI systems.

What You’ll Do

• Record or collect natural, spontaneous speech in accordance with the project guidelines
• Participate in or capture speech from approved real-life situations, such as workplace conversations or casual one‑on‑one discussions
• Complete individual or two‑person conversational speech tasks, or participate in voice or voice‑text interactions with an AI or machine‑based system
• Annotate collected speech data according to the instructions provided
• Provide the required information and metadata related to each recording

What We’re Looking For

• Native‑level fluency in Siswati
• Authentic pronunciation and strong familiarity with the target language through everyday use
• Advanced level of English to understand written instructions
• Contributors must not imitate dialects or accents that are not their own
• Experience with speech recording or data annotation projects is an advantage, but not required
• Strong attention to detail when providing annotations and recording metadata.
• Ability to follow detailed project and recording instructions.
