Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is seeking an AI Software Engineer to own and ship our internal automation roadmap, building production systems on top of AI models rather than researching them. You will work closely with engineering and delivery leadership to transform a documented automation roadmap into shipped, working systems.

This role requires hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph and other agent frameworks, plus API integrations with OpenAI or Anthropic.

Qualifications

2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineering and delivery leadership to map automation roadmaps to shipped systems.
Build production automation workflows on top of AI models.
Implement integrations with OpenAI and Anthropic APIs, including tooling and function calling.
Develop internal tools to reduce manual hours across design and development processes.
Create automation pipelines linking WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and internal CMS.
Assist MCP server integrations as part of the AI stack.
