Job summary

Mindworx Consulting and Academy is seeking an AI Applications Architect to design, prototype, and ship full-stack AI capabilities, mentoring delivery teams with working software and reference implementations.

You will own the AI stack, evaluate new models, and align capabilities with the core platform roadmap, in a hybrid role based in Cape Town or Johannesburg with two in-office days.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with LLMs and foundation models.
• Strong API design and privacy-first security knowledge.
• Experience building full-stack AI features.

Responsibilities

• Own the AI stack: architect, prototype, and ship full-stack AI features with reusable primitives.
• Empower the team: elevate engineering capabilities across C#, Angular, and TypeScript through pairing and code reviews.
• Set pragmatic direction: evaluate models, run cost-aware proofs of value, and align AI with the platform roadmap.

Job description

As an AI Applications Architect, you will be the hand-on builder driving our AI platform vision across Europe and Africa. Sitting within the Product Design team, you’ll design, prototype, and ship real, full-stack AI capabilities- mentoring delivery teams through working software, spikes, and reference implementations rather than slide decks

The Tech Stack Deep-Dive

Must-Haves:

• AI & LLM Frameworks: Hands-on experience with LLMs/foundation models, including RAG, prompt engineering, agentic workflows, function calling, and evaluation harnesses.
• Architecture & Security: Solid understanding of API design, scalability, and privacy-first data security (POPIA / GDPR).

Nice-to-Haves:

• Front-End & Ecosystem: Angular experience (aligned with the core platform).
• AI Tooling: Anthropic stack expertise (Claude API, Anthropic Agent platform).
• Backend Integration: Exposure to .NET/C#, SQL Server, and OpenTelemetry (OTel) observability.
