Key Responsibilities

• Transport fresh produce (fruits, vegetables) from farms to designated collection points, packhouses, or markets.


• Operate commercial vehicles, often refrigerated trucks, safely and in compliance with all traffic regulations and company policies.


• Ensure produce is loaded and secured properly to prevent damage during transit.


• Monitor temperature controls in refrigerated vehicles to maintain optimal conditions for perishable goods.


• Adhere to strict delivery schedules to ensure freshness and market readiness of products.


• Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle and its cargo, reporting any issues or spoilage immediately.


• Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and any required documentation related to the transport of agricultural goods.


• Communicate effectively with farm managers, packhouse supervisors, and delivery recipients.


• Keep the vehicle clean and organized, both internally and externally.


• Assist with loading and unloading operations as needed, using appropriate handling techniques.

Requirements

• Valid Code 10 (C1) or Code 14 (EC) driver's license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).


• Minimum of 4 years of experience in professional driving, with specific experience in agricultural transport or perishable goods delivery highly preferred.


• A clean driving record with no major violations.


• Demonstrated ability to handle and transport delicate agricultural products with care.


• Familiarity with operating refrigerated vehicles and maintaining temperature controls.


• Good knowledge of the Bloemfontein area and surrounding agricultural regions within the Free State .
