Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Agricultural Engineer for remote delivery with potential on-site visits to Durban and surrounding areas. You will design and implement agricultural machinery, structures, and systems that boost farm efficiency and sustainability, working autonomously as a contractor.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering with agricultural specialization, with at least 6 years of relevant experience and strong CAD

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in agricultural or mechanical engineering with a focus on agriculture.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in agricultural engineering design and project implementation.
• Proficiency with CAD and engineering design tools, with strong analytics.
• Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, mechanics and materials science in agriculture.
• Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, and supervise installation of agricultural equipment and farm infrastructure.
• Develop specifications and blueprints for new farming technologies and machinery.
• Analyze existing systems to improve efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.
• Conduct feasibility studies and provide engineering consultations for projects.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Agricultural Engineer to contribute to innovative agricultural projects remotely, with potential for site visits to Durban and surrounding areas. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing agricultural machinery, structures, and systems that enhance farm efficiency and sustainability. This role demands a blend of engineering expertise and an understanding of agricultural processes, focusing on solutions that address the unique challenges faced by the agricultural sector in KwaZulu-Natal . As a contractor, you will bring specialized knowledge to our projects, working autonomously to deliver exceptional engineering outcomes for our diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, test, and supervise the installation of agricultural equipment, irrigation systems, and farm infrastructure.
• Develop technical specifications and blueprints for new agricultural technologies and machinery.
• Analyze and improve existing agricultural systems for increased efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.
