Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in economic analysis, preferably within the agricultural sector.
  • Strong quantitative skills, including econometrics, statistical analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Proficiency in statistical software packages (e.g., Stata, R, SPSS) and data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of South African agricultural economy and policy landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct economic analysis of agricultural markets, including supply, demand, pricing, and trade dynamics.
  • Develop financial models and forecasts to assess profitability and feasibility of projects and investments.
  • Provide economic consulting services to farmers, cooperatives, and agricultural organizations on planning and risk management.
  • Analyze government policies, trade agreements, and their impact on the agricultural sector.
  • Prepare detailed economic reports, presentations, and policy briefs for stakeholders.
