Job summary

A leading veterinary practice in Pretoria seeks a Veterinarian to ensure quality care for clients and their pets. Responsibilities include examining, diagnosing, and treating medical issues, performing surgeries, and advocating for preventative care. Ideal candidates have a BVSc degree, current SAVC registration, and at least 3 years' experience in small animal practice. A passion for animal welfare is essential.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience in small animal practice preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality and ethical care to clients and their pets.
  • Assess, examine, and diagnose patients' medical issues.
  • Perform surgery and treat wounds.
  • Conduct laboratory, imaging, and ultrasound tests as needed.
  • Prescribe medication and promote preventative care.
  • Educate clients on positive lifestyle choices for pets.
  • Euthanise patients when necessary.
  • Maintain patients' medical records.

Ensure all team members provide quality and ethical care to all clients and their pets.Assess, examine, and diagnose patients' medical issues.Perform surgery, dress, and treat wounds.Perform diagnostic laboratory, imaging and ultrasound testing where required.Prescribe medication.Promote preventative care by advocating and administering routine vaccinations and immunisations.Educate clients on positive lifestyle choices for pets.Euthanise patients if and when needed.Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.Maintain patients' medical records.BVSc degree with current SAVC registration.CPD requirements fully up to date.Strong clinical, diagnostic, and surgical skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication abilitiesmitment to professional growth and lifelong learning.A genuine love for animals and dedication to their welfare.3+ years' experience in small animal practice (preferred).
