Job summary

Curro Hazeldean in Pretoria seeks an Afrikaans FET teacher for a full-time role starting January 2027. The successful candidate will teach Afrikaans as a First Additional Language, coordinate subjects in the FET phase, and contribute to ongoing assessment and learner development within Curro's curriculum.

Requirements include a BEd or PGCE in the FET phase, SACE registration and at least 3 years’ FET experience, with knowledge of the IEB curriculum and strong classroom management skills.

Qualifications

• Must hold a BEd or PGCE in FET phase education; honours advantageous.
• SACE-registered and clear criminal record.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an FET phase teacher.
• Knowledge of the IEB curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Teach Afrikaans FAL and coordinate subjects per Curro curriculum in FET phase.
• Plan lessons using modern tools; set up workbooks and monitor improvement.
• Set up term plans, exams, assessments and differentiated learning materials.
• Manage classroom, assessments and homework; supervise moderation.
• Coordinate extramural activities and provide tutoring where needed.
• Communicate with parents and learners about progress.
