AFRIKAANS FAL (GR 8 – 12) & CONSUMER STUDIES (GR 10 – 12) TEACHER

An Independent, Christian day school situated in Melrose, Johannesburg, Kingsmead provides an excellent, all-rounded education to girls from Grade 000 to Matric.

The successful applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Have a proven track record as a highly skilled and experienced Afrikaans & Consumer Studies educator up to the Grade 12 level.
  • Have the appropriate academic and professional qualifications
  • Be registered with SACE
  • Be proficient in Afrikaans and English
  • Have a passion for Afrikaans culture
  • Have a passion for aspects of the Consumer Studies subject, like hospitality, cooking and management of the Consumer Studies classroom
  • Have an innovative, interactive and progressive approach to teaching Afrikaans as a First Additional Language & Consumer Studies
  • Be a dynamic team member with excellent people and communication skills
  • Have great IT skills and be familiar with technology in the classroom
  • An ability and willingness to offer student support in and out of the classroom context
  • Although IEB experience would be an advantage, we welcome DBE experience
  • Able to engage fully with the ethos and culture of Kingsmead College
  • Be willing to participate in the co-curricular programme offered by the school
