Placements24 is seeking an accomplished Aerospace Structures Engineer for a hybrid role in Centurion, Gauteng. You will design, analyze, and test aircraft structural components, ensuring safety and performance through rigorous engineering practices.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or PhD in aerospace/mechanical structures with 7+ years of experience, and expert knowledge of FEA (ANSYS/ABAQUS) and CAD tools (CATIA/SolidWorks). Familiarity with SACAA/EASA/FAA standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in aerospace/mechanical engineering with a structures focus.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive aerospace structural design/analysis experience.
• Proven expertise with FEA software (ANSYS/ABAQUS).
• Proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA/SolidWorks) for structural design.
• Strong materials science knowledge including composites and failure theories.
• Familiarity with aircraft certification processes and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze aircraft structural components using CAD/CAE tools.
• Perform stress, fatigue, and fracture mechanics calculations.
• Develop and validate FEMs for structural components.
• Conduct structural testing, interpret results, and propose design changes.
• Ensure designs meet aviation standards (SACAA, EASA, FAA).

Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyze aircraft structural components and systems using advanced CAD/CAE tools.

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) for structural design.
• Strong understanding of material science, composite materials, and failure theories.
• Knowledge of aerospace structural testing methods and equipment.
• Familiarity with aircraft certification processes and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
