Job summary

Placements24 seeks an Advocacy Manager for a leading advocacy non-profit based in Port Elizabeth. This fully remote role drives policy influence, develops campaigns, and mobilizes public support across South Africa.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in policy advocacy, excellent research and communication skills, and can operate autonomously in a remote Eastern Cape context.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Public Policy, Law, Political Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of policy advocacy or government relations experience.
• Proven track record of influencing policy outcomes.
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote Eastern Cape context.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute advocacy strategies to meet policy objectives.
• Conduct research and analysis on policy issues and trends.
• Engage with government officials and stakeholders to advance the agenda.
• Build and manage coalitions with partner organizations.
• Create advocacy materials including briefs and position papers.
• Mobilize public support via media, digital campaigns, and grassroots organizing in Port Elizabeth.

About the Role

Our client, a leading advocacy non-profit organization based in Port Elizabeth , is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Advocacy Manager to lead its efforts in influencing policy and driving social change. This pivotal role involves developing and implementing strategic advocacy campaigns, engaging with policymakers, and mobilizing public support for key issues. The ideal candidate will be a passionate communicator, a skilled strategist, and a dedicated advocate for the causes our client champions. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive advocacy strategies to achieve organizational policy objectives.
• Conduct research and analysis on relevant policy issues and trends.
• Engage with government officials, legislators, and other stakeholders to promote the organization's agenda.
• Build and manage coalitions with partner organizations to amplify advocacy efforts.
• Develop advocacy materials, including position papers, policy briefs, and campaign communications.
• Mobilize public support through media engagement, digital campaigns, and grassroots organizing in Port Elizabeth.

Requirements
