About the Role

Our client, a prominent manufacturing firm in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal , is seeking a highly skilled and diligent Advanced Sanitation Systems Technician. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and safety of our production environment, ensuring adherence to stringent hygiene standards. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of sophisticated sanitation equipment and systems used throughout the facility. This is a hands-on position requiring technical expertise, a keen understanding of sanitation principles, and meticulous attention to detail. The successful candidate will play a vital role in preventing contamination, ensuring product quality, and complying with all relevant industry and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair advanced sanitation equipment, including automated cleaning systems, chemical dispensers, and UV sterilization units.
• Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on all sanitation systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Calibrate sensors, flow meters, and other control devices to ensure accuracy and efficiency of sanitation processes.
• Conduct water quality testing and chemical concentration checks to verify the effectiveness of cleaning agents.
• Operate and maintain high-pressure washing equipment and other specialized cleaning tools.
• Follow strict safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during all operations.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new sanitation procedures and technologies.
• Train other personnel on the safe and effective operation of sanitation equipment.
• Respond promptly to emergency calls for equipment failures or sanitation issues.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Technician, Maintenance Specialist, or similar role, with a focus on sanitation systems or industrial cleaning equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot complex machinery.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Experience with chemical handling and safety procedures is essential.
• Knowledge of industrial hygiene and sanitation best practices in a manufacturing setting.
• Certification in plumbing, electrical, or mechanical trades is a significant advantage.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet demanding production schedules.
• Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environmental conditions.
