Job Description

An established and up-market financial planning organisation is seeking a Fiduciary Associate who will guide clients through some of the most significant moments of their lives. You will draft and manage wills, oversee estate administration, support trusts, and ensure every legal and administrative step is handled with precision and care. This position is a full-time, in office role (Monday - Friday).

What you will do:

  • Draft and review Wills, Living Wills, Letters of Wishes, and other estate-related documents.
  • Support clients through meetings with empathy and clarity, providing guidance alongside the Director.
  • Manage deceased estates from instruction to finalisation, ensuring all steps are compliant, accurate, and handled with care.
  • Onboard clients and maintain professional communication with beneficiaries, executors, the Master’s Office, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review all key documentation including Liquidation and Distribution Accounts, affidavits, receipts, and final asset transfers.
  • Assist with trust administration and ad hoc trust instructions while ensuring all legal and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Contribute to improving processes, systems, and documentation to enhance efficiency and client experience.

Who you are:

  • LLB degree and admitted attorney in South Africa.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • SharePoint experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with estate administration software such as LegalEase or LexisNexis is preferred.
  • Exceptionally organised, detail-oriented, and able to navigate complex workflows with accuracy.
  • Empathetic and professional, able to communicate with clients during sensitive matters with care and clarity.
