Job description
Overview

The incumbent will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and financial support across two academic departments within the Faculty of AgriSciences at Stellenbosch University (SU).

Responsibilities
  • Managing the academic administration of undergraduate and postgraduate students within designated Departments.
  • Processing and coordinating financial and payment-related transactions on the Stellenbosch University (SU) financial system.
  • Facilitating effective collaboration and coordination with key University Divisions, including IT, Human Resources, Finance, Facilities Management, and Campus Security.
  • Serving as a primary point of contact for enquiries and liaising with academic staff, students, service providers, and other stakeholders. Providing administrative support for the planning and implementation of social impact projects.
  • Delivering ad hoc administrative support to ensure the smooth functioning of departmental activities and initiatives.
Job Requirements / Pos Vereistes

Applicants Must Meet The Following Minimum Requirements

  • An administrative or finance diploma, or an equivalent qualification (NQF 6).
  • A minimum of four years' proven experience in an administrative role within:
    • a higher education institution, or
    • a large corporate or public-sector organisation, or
    • a complex, multi-stakeholder operating environment.
  • Proficiency in using diverse and complex information systems to support administrative and operational processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and especially Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage professionally with clients and stakeholders, ensuring a high standard of service delivery and effective relationship management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and within deadlines.
  • The ability to function in a multilingual and diverse environment.
