Job Title : Actuarial Expert (General Insurance)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Actuarial Expert specialising in general insurance to join our team.

The Actuarial Expert will play a critical role in analysing and assessing risk, pricing insurance products, and developing financial models to support strategic decision-making within the company.

Responsibilities :

1. Conducting data analysis / modeling to evaluate risk and assess the financial impact of insurance products
2. Developing pricing models and strategies for various insurance policies and products
3. Collaborating with underwriters, product managers / other stakeholders to optimise pricing and profitability
4. Monitoring / evaluating performance of insurance products and recommending adjustments to pricing and underwriting guidelines
5. Providing actuarial expertise and guidance on regulatory compliance and financial reporting requirements
6. Contributing to the development and implementation of new insurance products and initiatives
7. Keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices in actuarial science and general insurance

Qualifications :

1. Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science
2. Degree in Mathematics as well as Actuarial Degree preferred
3. Qualified or nearly qualified Actuary designation (Fellow or Associate level) is preferred
4. 5+ years of experience in actuarial work within the general insurance industry
5. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical modeling and data analysis tools (Excel, SAS, R)
6. Knowledge of insurance pricing techniques, reserving methods, and regulatory requirements
7. Excellent communication / interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with teams
8. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
9. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
