Job summary

Apex Group in Cape Town is seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant Manager to oversee the end-to-end AP function for a top client. You will manage the AP lifecycle, improve processes, and report KPIs to internal stakeholders.

You will own controls to prevent errors, collaborate with the accounting team, review invoices, reconcile bank statements, and respond to ad-hoc client requests. The role reports to the Senior Manager and requires strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Oversee end-to-end accounts payable process.
• Track KPIs and report to client as agreed timelines.
• Own and manage all processes feeding into AP and highlight control risks.
• Ensure processes are well documented to reduce invoice and payment errors.
• Collaborate with accounting team to capture invoices and mitigate risks.
• Review invoices against client billing information for accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end AP process and due diligence.
• Ensure timely payments and reconcile bank statements.
• Prepare trade creditor reports and monitor aging.
• Respond to ad-hoc client requests and project work.
• Coordinate with core accounting team for information requests.
• Liaise with client and internal teams to ensure accuracy of payable data.
