  • Handle creditors: capture invoices, reconcile supplier statements, and prepare payments.
  • Assist with stock-related administration, including invoice processing and monthly stock counts.

Overview

An established organisation is looking for a detail‑oriented Accounting Officer (mid career) to join its finance team. The role will work closely with the Financial Manager to maintain accurate records, manage daily financial transactions, and support the smooth running of all accounting functions.

What you’ll do
  • Process and reconcile daily cash transactions and bank entries.
  • Maintain the general ledger and prepare relevant journal entries.
  • Manage debtors: issue invoices, reconcile accounts, and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Handle creditors: capture invoices, reconcile supplier statements, and prepare payments.
  • Assist with stock‑related administration, including invoice processing and monthly stock counts.
  • Manage petty cash records and reimbursements.
  • Order and track centralised supplies as needed.
  • Provide administrative and finance‑related support across departments.
What you’ll need
  • A degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Completed or in‑progress articles.
  • At least 4 years experience in a similar accounting or finance support role.
  • Proficiency in English and Afrikaans.
  • Advanced Excel skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using Pastel (Sage) Evolution
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
  • A proactive, analytical approach to problem‑solving.
  • Dependable, organised, and able to take ownership of tasks.
  • Professional and cooperative when working across multiple teams.
