Job Description
We are seeking a Junior Accounting Assistant with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join our team.
The role involves managing both Debtors (80%) and Creditors (20%), along with general accounting and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Debtors and Creditors, including invoicing, payments, and reconciliations.
- Process and reconcile supplier invoices on a daily and weekly basis.
- Send out monthly statements and handle outstanding queries promptly.
- Pile BEE documents and assist in audit preparations.
- Maintain accurate financial records and reports using Sage / Pastel software.
- Manage motor vehicle licenses, registrations, and fines.
- Assist the senior accountant with various financial tasks.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, with proven references.
- Proficient in Sage / Pastel, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong knowledge of VAT, invoicing, and reconciliations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time‑management skills.
- Willingness to work alternate weekends when required.
- Trustworthy and able to handle confidential information.
