Introduction

Accounting firm in PMB is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, handling a variety of accounting functions, and ensuring compliance with relevant financial and tax regulations.

They will also assist staff supervision. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced professional services environment and gain broad exposure to multiple industries. Location: PMB. Salary: R22k - R30k

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for clients
  • Process and reconcile bank transactions, journals, and ledgers
  • Manage accounts payable, receivable, and general bookkeeping functions
  • Handle VAT, PAYE, and income tax submissions via SARS eFiling
  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS or relevant reporting frameworks
  • Perform payroll processing and submissions when required
  • Liaise with clients regarding financial queries, deadlines, and reporting
  • Support audit preparation and provide necessary documentation
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and tax laws (e.g., SARS compliance)
  • Maintain accurate and organized records for all client accounts
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2 years post articles experience in an accounting or audit firm
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax laws, and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, Pastel) and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and client service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and meet tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completed SAIPA / SAICA articles or working towards designation
  • Experience working with small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
