Accountant (Mandarin Speaking) – Reference: JHB. Seeking a qualified candidate to maintain accurate financial records and provide financial analysis, oversight, and compliance with South African regulations and IFRS for Fourways, Johannesburg. Employment type: Permanent, On-site.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Financial Records Maintenance: Keep accurate records of all financial transactions in compliance with South African financial regulations and IFRS.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the creation and management of budgets, forecasts, and business plans.
- Tax Compliance: Calculate and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with South African tax laws (e.g., income tax, VAT, payroll tax).
- Provide tax planning advice to reduce tax liabilities.
- Audit Assistance: Facilitate and support internal and external audit processes, ensuring all financial practices comply with statutory and corporate policies.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, financial risks, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Cash Management: Manage cash flow to ensure optimal liquidity for operational needs.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with financial laws and regulations; implement and monitor financial controls.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial information and advice to management, shareholders, and other stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve financial processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Postgraduate qualification or certification (CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) highly advantageous.
- Proven working experience as an accountant or in a relevant financial role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS.
- Experience with financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Knowledge of South African tax laws and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear manner.
Work Environment and Other Considerations
