Overview

A prestigious hospitality group based in Hout Bay is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join their finance team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, high-end environment where precision, professionalism, and integrity are at the heart of everything we do.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of all financial processes, maintaining accurate records, and supporting management with meaningful financial insights that contribute to the overall success of the property.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and reconcile all financial records, including general ledger accounts, bank statements, and supplier invoices
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, and financial reports
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, and ensure timely payments and collections
  • Manage payroll and statutory submissions (VAT, PAYE, UIF, etc.)
  • Monitor cost controls, revenue streams, and operational expenses
  • Liaise with external auditors, suppliers, and management to ensure compliance with financial standards
  • Implement and maintain effective financial systems and controls to improve efficiency
  • Assist with cash flow forecasting and financial planning
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ accounting experience, preferably within the hospitality or tourism industry
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
  • Proficiency in accounting software (such as Pastel, Xero, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Must be based in or able to commute to Hout Bay
