Job summary

Abantu Staffing Solutions is seeking an Accountant to join their Head Office team in South Africa, Oos-Kaap. This position reports to the Senior Accountant and involves preparing cashbooks, managing month-end reconciliations, and preparing audit schedules.

The successful candidate should have a completed BCom, Grade 12, and over 3 years of experience in an Accounting Firm. Strong attention to detail and integrity are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience working in an Accounting Firm environment.
• Experience within a commercial environment is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cashbook weekly and update.
• Review supplier batches and update on Accounting software.
• Review month end stock count variances and assist in investigation.
• Prepare monthly supplier reconciliations and arrange payments.
• Balance intercompany loans and process interest journals.
• Manage fixed asset register and perform reconciliations.
• Raise depreciation journals.
• Handle intercompany invoicing for asset hire.
• Prepare monthly reports on fleet costs and utilization.
• Prepare reports on actual vs budgeted costs.
• Conduct VAT reconciliation.
• Process all other month end journals.
• Prepare audit schedules and monthly management accounts.
