Job summary

Communicate Finance is seeking an experienced senior bookkeeper to manage full bookkeeping for multiple entities up to trial balance. You will handle VAT, PAYE, UIF, payroll, and tenant invoicing, ensuring accuracy and compliance. The role requires leadership, independence, and meticulous financial control.

Proven expertise in Xero, Sage Online, Pastel Partner, and SimplePay is essential, along with advanced Excel skills and the ability to drive timely financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' accounting and finance experience.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for analysing and reporting financial data.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance across multiple entities.
• Process and accurately capture all financial transactions.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and perform balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and UIF returns.
• Ensure ongoing SARS and statutory compliance.
• Process payroll accurately and maintain payroll compliance.
• Maintain employee records, leave schedules and payroll deductions.
• Administer and manage tenant lease agreements; generate monthly tenant invoices.
• Coordinate travel for medical representatives, including flights and accommodation.
• Reconcile medical reps logbooks with Fleet Card statements and verify allowances.
• Manage month-end and year-end financial processes and reporting requirements.
• Prepare financial and payroll reports supporting the Chartered Accountant.

• Manage the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance across multiple entities
• Process and accurately capture all financial transactions
• Maintain general ledger accounts and perform balance sheet reconciliations
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and UIF returns
• Ensure ongoing compliance with SARS and all statutory requirements
• Process payroll accurately and maintain payroll compliance
• Maintain employee records, leave schedules, and payroll deductions
• Administer and manage tenant lease agreements
• Generate monthly tenant invoices and monitor rental income
• Coordinate travel arrangements for medical representatives, including flights, accommodation, and vehicle rentals, with after-hours support when required
• Reconcile medical representatives logbooks against Fleet Card statements and verify subsidiary allowances for accuracy and compliance
• Manage month-end and year-end financial processes and reporting requirements
• Prepare financial and payroll reports while supporting the Chartered Accountant with accounting and compliance-related requirements

Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 10 years' proven accounting and finance experience
• Proven ability to manage the financial operations of multiple entities simultaneously
• Strong working knowledge of Xero, Sage Online, Pastel Partner, and SimplePay
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyse and report on financial data

Experience using online banking platforms, including FNB and Standard Bank

Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and compliance requirements

Professional, mature, and highly ethical approach to work

Strong leadership skills with the ability to take ownership and drive results
