Job description

A vacancy exists for an Accountant at Royal Rehabilitation Hospital and Halo Day Hospital in Pietermaritzburg. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full accounting and tax functions for the Hospitals.

Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of cashbooks
  • Creditor's reconciliations – including maintenance of creditors' accounts and files
  • Calculation and submission of VAT returns
  • Preparation and maintenance of the General Ledgers
  • Preparation and presentation of the monthly management accounts for senior management
  • Analysis of financial data to identify potential business risks and to provide mitigating controls
  • Management of debtors (both reconciliation and collections)
  • Provide regular financial reports (weekly, monthly and yearly)
  • SARS E filing administration and submissions
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset registers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 3–5 years relevant experience (healthcare experience advantageous)
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting solutions and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Delta 9 would be advantageous
  • Strong organizational, analytical and reporting skills
