A financial services company in Gauteng is seeking an experienced accounting professional to oversee financial management for subsidiary entities. The role involves assisting the Financial Manager, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with local taxes, and coordinating accounting functions. Ideal candidates will have a BCom Financial Accounting degree, 3-5 years of experience, and strong knowledge of accounting software.

Minimum applicable experience (years) :
Completed SAICA / SAIPA articles
3-5 years experience in a similar accounting role
Required nature of experience :
Assisting Financial Manager in a corporate accounting environment
Preparing and reviewing financial statements and management reports
Handling statutory compliance including VAT, PAYE, UIF, and other local taxes
Experience with audits, reconciliations, and internal control processes
Skills and Knowledge (essential) :
Intermediate to expert knowledge of Sage Evolution and Pastel Partner (Sage 50c)
Basic knowledge of Draftworx and SimplePay (willingness to learn required)
Understanding of e-Filing for tax submissions
Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Afrikaans and English
Own transport and license
Reporting directly to the Financial Manager and acting as 2IC
Overseeing the full financial and operational management of several subsidiary entities within the group.
Assisting Executive Directors with personal income taxes and provisional tax submissions
Assisting the Financial Manager with posting bank transactions and processing journal entries
Reviewing expenses, payroll records, and capturing payroll data
Coordinating accounting functions and programs
Collaborating with other departments (Dispatch, Receiving, Debtors, Creditors, Legal)
Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts
Preparing and submitting weekly and monthly reports
Assisting with annual audit preparations and resolving audit findings
Maintaining asset register and assisting with stock take audits
Preparing and submitting local tax returns and statutory requirements (VAT, PAYE, UIF, Workmans Compensation, IRP5, IRP6, EMP, etc.)
Preparing budgets, financial analysis, and monthly management reports
Revenue projections and expenditure forecasting
Assisting with annual BBBEE audit preparations
Supervising accounting staff where required
Compiling Annual Financial Statements according to regulatory standards (IFRS, IFRS for SME, IAS)
Providing general assistance to Financial Manager and / or Directors
Any other duties as required from time to time
