About the Role

A well-established company based in Germiston is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join its finance team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, managing intercompany accounts, and providing leadership within the accounting department.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain complete and accurate financial records, including reconciliations and journal entries.

Oversee accounts payable and ensure all payments are processed on time.

Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and management reports.

Assist with annual budgets, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.

Ensure full compliance with tax laws and assist with submissions and returns.

Support the external audit process and other statutory reporting requirements.

Manage and reconcile intercompany loan accounts and related transactions.

Prepare intercompany invoices and resolve balance discrepancies.

Supervise and mentor members of the accounting team.

Perform additional accounting duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.

Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles (advantageous).

Minimum of 10 years relevant accounting experience.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Clear credit and criminal record.
