Job summary

A leading fast food brand in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Accountant to maintain the fixed asset register, process reconciliations, and assist with the annual budget. The ideal candidate should have a B. Com, 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience in the FMCG industry is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years bookkeeping experience.
• Valid drivers licence required.
• Experience in the FMCG (restaurant) industry will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Fixed Asset register, new builds, revamps & scrapping.
• Process and reconcile debtors and creditors.
• Assist with coordination and planning of the annual budget process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain Fixed Asset register, new builds, revamps & scrapping

To process and reconcile

• Debtors
• Creditors – allocation/coding (capturing done by Creditors team)
• Cashbook and Petty Cash
• Journals – Monthly; Payroll; Depreciation
• Bookkeeping up to Trial balance
• Management Accounts – preparation, corroboration & follow up
• VAT
• Salary and Wages
• Credit cards
• Assist with coordination and planning of the annual budget process
• Maintenance of beneficiaries list on banking system
• Creating payments
• Daily bank deposits reconciliation and follow-up, cash tracking
• Maintain monthly audit files
• Food cost corroboration & follow up

REQUIREMENTS

• B. Com
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• Fluent in English
• Valid drivers licence
• 2-3 years bookkeeping experience
• Experience in Sage Evolution
• Experience with GAAP Retail Office will be advantageous
• Experience in the FMCG (restaurant) industry will be advantageous
