Job summary

IGrow Wealth Investments in Durbanville, Cape Town, is seeking a dynamic Accountant to join our growing property investment team. The role emphasizes accuracy, timely financial reporting and strong governance over VAT, PAYE, UIF and SDL.

You will handle supplier invoices, prepare reports and support month-end closing. The ideal candidate holds SAICA/SAIPA status, has at least 1 year post articles experience, and is proficient in Xero and Excel.

Qualifications

• Professional Accountant (SA) registered with SAIPA.
• Minimum 1 year post articles experience.
• Working knowledge of Xero or similar accounting software.
• Understanding of South African VAT, PAYE, UIF and SDL.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and discretion with confidential client data.
• Clear communication and the ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Capture supplier bills, invoices and receipts accurately, and code them to the correct accounts.
• Raise invoices and commission statements, allocate receipts and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Prepare weekly payment runs for the Financial Manager's approval.
• Reconcile bank and clear unallocated items.
• Post journals and prepare accruals, prepaid and month-end schedules.
• Provide draft reports, including aged debtors and creditors, cash position and budget-versus-actual extracts.
• Keep supporting documents filed and ready for audit and SARS queries.
• Support the Financial Manager with ad hoc requests and month-end deadlines.
• Solvency/POA/Auditors letters as per Cara’s directive.
