Job summary

Snatch | Accounting & Finance Headhunters seeks an Accountant to manage a UK client portfolio from Cape Town. You will handle end-to-end accounting for multiple clients, prepare year-end accounts, and support tax and payroll tasks while improving cloud accounting workflows.

Candidate should have 3–5 years of accounting experience, be proficient in Xero and Excel, and be comfortable with UK regulatory aspects. Role offers monthly remuneration in ZAR and direct client responsibility.

Qualifications

• Qualified PA (SA) or AGA (SA), or pursuing CIMA.
• 3–5 years of total accounting experience.
• Experience managing end-to-end accounting for multiple clients.
• Familiar with UK payroll and tax basics.
• Proficient in Xero and Excel.

Role Overview

A growing UK accounting services firm is seeking an Accountant to support its small business clients. This opportunity offers direct client responsibility, exposure to UK accounting and involvement in improving accounting technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and small companies.
• Maintain client ledgers, process bookkeeping entries and reconcile accounts using cloud accounting software.
• Produce monthly or quarterly management accounts for clients.
• Manage day-to-day client queries, explain financial results and coordinate outstanding records.
• Prepare UK Corporation Tax, VAT and Self Assessment returns where the agreed role scope includes tax.
• Process payroll and associated submissions, including pension and construction industry reporting where applicable.
• Track filing deadlines, maintain practice records and support clients with accounting software onboarding and improvements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Qualified PA (SA) or AGA (SA), or currently working towards a CIMA qualification.
• 3 - 5 years of total accounting experience.
• Proven ability to manage end-to-end accounting for multiple clients simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Xero and strong Excel skills.
• Solid knowledge of international tax principles, or the ability to quickly learn new regulatory requirements and software platforms.
• Exposure to UK payroll, auto-enrolment or Making Tax Digital would be advantageous.

Salary & Benefits

• R35,000 - R45,000 per month (based on relevant experience)
