Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site senior academic leadership role based at the Pretoria campus of Belgium Campus iTversity. The Academic Dean provides institution-wide academic leadership with primary responsibility for the quality, coherence, and future readiness of teaching, learning, and assessment across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Reporting to the Academic Head, the Academic Dean plays a central role in strengthening academic standards, guiding curriculum renewal aligned to an AI-enabled world of work, and ensuring regulatory compliance within the South African higher education framework. The role requires close collaboration with senior academic colleagues, including the Research, Academic, and Industry Coordinators, to ensure academic alignment and institutional depth.

Key responsibilities include leading curriculum development and renewal, safeguarding academic quality and assessment integrity, mentoring senior academics and emerging academic leaders, and representing the institution in academic and professional forums. The Academic Dean also contributes to institutional planning and supports the responsible and rigorous integration of AI into teaching and assessment practices.
