Job Purpose: The Software Release Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the deployment of software releases across development, testing, and production environments. This role ensures that releases are delivered on schedule, meet quality standards, and align with business and technical requirements. The incumbent will work closely with development, QA, DevOps, and operations teams to establish efficient release processes, minimise downtime, and ensure smooth transitions through all stages of the software delivery lifecycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities
  • Requests the opening of a new PCE version
  • Ensures that the testing environments are ready by participating in the environment meeting on Thursdays
  • Prioritizes cases in collaboration with 2nd line Support
  • Requests parent COs for releases
  • Drives the cases that are "not ready for testing"
  • Drives all cases that are not decomposed
  • Prepares material for war room meetings
  • Prepares material for bug scrub meetings
  • Runs daily bug scrubs
  • Follows up on testing issues
  • Requests PCE Freeze
  • Produces WhatsApp list of all implementation resources and confirms communication
  • Determines system downtimes
  • Requests BU approvals
  • Requests COs for all areas
  • Arranges pre-implementation health checks
  • Arranges post-implementation IT sanity checks
  • Does final check to ensure that everything is in place for implementation (Implementation Resources, CO's, parent CO, PCE version frozen, broadcast, standby list)
  • Changes the status of implemented cases to verification
  • Requests the script to be run to close the implemented cases
  • Attends show stopper meetings
  • Attends CAB meetings
  • Arranges the creation of new releases on ClearSupport
  • Completes tasks on IPACCMAN after the implementation of a release
  • Manages production cases (BPTs, other cases)
  • Handles approvals
  • Manages assignments
  • Manages closures
  • Schedules activities
  • Dispatches to QC
  • Handles status changes
  • Runs a report of cases that need to be verified and manages outcomes
  • Other miscellaneous tasks
  • Produces and maintains release schedules
  • Maintains records of internally implemented CRs (BPM, UB, SLIM, NCAS, FB)
