Job summary

Virgin Active South Africa (Pty) Ltd in East London is seeking a Fitness Instructor to promote our world-class fitness products and to increase member retention through effective new member induction. This role will also promote existing and new fitness initiatives and services to members.

You will build relationships with members, conduct fitness initiatives to increase retention, and ensure health and safety while adhering to operational requirements.

Qualifications

• Matric qualification is required.
• Industry recognized fitness qualification is essential.
• First Aid with AED certification is required.
• Ability to work shifts which includes weekends and public holidays.
• Experience in member service (customer service) preferred.
• Must be a people person and able to assist and guide our members.

Responsibilities

• Promote Virgin Active fitness products and services to members to boost retention.
• Induct new members effectively to drive ongoing engagement.
• Build relationships with members to support retention and satisfaction.
• Adhere to operational and administrative requirements.
• Ensure the health and safety of members at all times.
• Promote ancillary products and services available to members.
• Engage in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry changes.

Your Purpose...

• To inspire people to live active lives
• The role of the Fitness Instructor is to promote our world-class fitness products and to increase member retention through effective new member induction. This role will also be responsible to promote existing and new fitness initiatives as well as products and services to members.

Your Duties and Responsibilities...

• To at all times do your bit towards achieving our purpose to Inspire people to live an active life, this is achieved by believing and living our values through all we do, always innovating, inspiring people, have fun and do the right thing.
• Building relationships with members to achieve member retention
• Conducting fitness initiatives to increase member retention
• Adhering to operational & administrative requirements
• Ensure the health and safety of members at all times
• Actively managing ongoing training and self-development to keep abreast of industry changes
• Actively assist and promote the ancillary products and services available to members

• A minimum of 6 months experience within fitness
• First Aid qualification with AED certification
• Ability to work shifts which includes weekends and public holidays
