Position Overview

Emeris Ruimsig has a vacancy for Part‑Time Lecturers Faculty of Information Technology available for the Academic year.

Key Performance Areas
  • Lecturing on programmes (preferably IIE qualification) across various modes of delivery where relevant.
  • Marking assessments and giving students timely feedback; internally moderate assessment scripts within subject fields across IIE sites.
  • Providing lecturer development and support according to processes and procedures; conduct peer reviews, facilitate workshops, provide one‑on‑one consultations.
  • Student development and support: champion, lead, and manage academic development and support for a specific programme and its students; track student success and implement support interventions where required.
  • Promote a culture of scholarship within practice, discipline team, and contribute towards campus (Emeris Ruimsig) achieving annual research output targets.
Competencies Required
  • Superior communication (written and verbal) and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage work and self proactively.
  • Proven track record of effective teaching in subject area based on reflective practice.
  • Ability to manage relationships with managers and staff effectively based on motivation, quality and performance.
  • Passion for providing customer service.
  • Experience in technology to enhance learning is an added advantage.
Minimum Qualification Requirements

Masters in Information Technology or Computer Science, and any related field (NQF level 9) preferable.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements

Minimum of 3 years in Teaching and Learning experience (preferably in the teaching environment).

Lecturing Experience in Programming
  • Experience as a software developer / application developer / mobile programmer, in one or more of the following technologies: NET (C#, .NET Core, ASP.net MVC, Blazor, UWP); JavaScript (React, Angular, etc); Opensource (Kotlin); Mobile Application Development (Android / iOS); Mobile App Scripting.
Working Conditions

Independent contractor position. Lectures take place between 08:00 during weekdays. Classes are conducted face‑to‑face on campus.
