Job summary

A leading yacht manufacturing company in Milnerton seeks a dedicated individual for the Tooling Moulds Department. Responsibilities include laminating moulds, understanding trim drawings, and ensuring quality standards. Candidates should hold at least an NQF Level 2 qualification, with advantageous experience in paint mixing and power tools operation. Strong planning and communication skills are essential. This position may require weekend and overtime work.

Qualifications

  • NQF Level 2 qualification or R&C competency certificate required.
  • Experience in painting or mixing catalyst ratios advantageous.
  • Ability to work with power tools such as grinders and sabre saws.

Job description
Overview

Reporting to the Team Leader in the Tooling Moulds Department, you will fulfil the necessary requirements with regards to the operational activities / requirements in the Department to meet the Company’s objectives which is the manufacturing of high-quality components.

Key Job Functions
  • Read and understand trim drawings.
  • Laminate Moulds as per schedule and process.
  • Cut, Trim and Block GRP Moulds (i.e., Sand/Fair edges straight, remove sharp and spiky areas on GRP).
  • Spray Paint, Paint or flow coat moulds. Must know catalyst and MEK mixing ratios.
  • Maintain quality and adhere to quality standards at all times.
  • Maintain stable production delivery.
  • Achievement of health and safety standards.
  • Ensure build cycle requirements are met.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Minimum: NQF Level 2 (Grade 10).
Qualification Internal Team Members

NQF level 2(Grade 10) and/or a R&C competency certificate as a Laminator

  • Ideal: NQF Level 4 (Grade 12).
  • Experience: Any painting or Catalyst ratio mixing experience would be advantageous.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience of all aspects of mixing.
  • Excellent timekeeping and attendance record.
  • Able to work weekends and overtime.
  • Able to work with Power Tools, i.e. Small and Large Grinder and Sabre Saw
  • Have a thorough understanding of the quality condition within the company
