SLB in Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico seeks a Mechanical Technician to perform maintenance, repair, and inspection on assigned equipment, ensuring operational readiness and on-time delivery.

You will execute preventive and corrective maintenance within reliability-centered frameworks, maintain detailed records in CMMS/TLM, and support continuous improvement in asset utilization and cost of service delivery. English skills appreciated for coordination with teams.

Formación

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or related fields.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Manufacturing or heavy equipment preferred.
  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems and asset tracking.
  • Basic to intermediate English proficiency preferred.

Mechanical Technician

Location: Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and inspection activities on assigned equipment to ensure operational readiness and on-time delivery.
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance programs in accordance with reliability-centered maintenance strategies and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, parts usage, labor hours, and equipment history within Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, asset utilization, maintenance efficiency, and Cost of Service Delivery (CoSD).
  • Participate in failure investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with Product Line standards, maintenance procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Promote a safe working environment by adhering to all Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), and operational policies.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to reduce downtime and improve equipment turnaround times.

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for ensuring on-time delivery of equipment as per operational demands. The Mechanical Technician improves maintenance related nonproductive time ratio of the Product Line's assets within the Maintenance Base (MB), and improves maintenance efficiency and people productivity.

  • Maintain assigned equipment according to the pertinent maintenance program and compliant with the reliability centered maintenance strategy through adherence to the Computerized Maintenance Management System and standard work.
  • Adhere to transactional discipline within Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) business systems to record materials and supplies, labor costs and equipment maintenance performance history such as movements, work orders, parts used and time to maintain.
  • Comply with TLM Product Line standards.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement culture, initiatives and improvement plans within the MB to improve asset utilization and cost of service delivery (CoSD).
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve asset turnaround time, which includes reducing downtime due to maintenance, parts and repair authorization numbers, failures and work-in-process.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to improve the efficiency and productivity of Maintenance Technicians.
  • Implement CoSD projects, such as the planned repair and reuse of parts.
  • Participate in failure investigations as assigned.
  • Comply with the TLM Competency Management System.
Education
  • Technical degree or equivalent in:
  • Mechanical Technology
  • Mechatronics
  • Electromechanical Technology
  • Industrial Maintenance
  • Related Technical Disciplines
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, equipment repair, or industrial maintenance environments.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Manufacturing, Heavy Equipment, or related industries preferred.
  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems and asset tracking processes is desirable.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and rotating equipment.
  • Ability to perform equipment troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs.
  • Experience interpreting technical manuals, maintenance procedures, and engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Understanding of reliability-centered maintenance concepts and asset integrity practices.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Languages
  • Basic to intermediate English proficiency preferred.
