Première Urgence Internationale (PUI) in Caracas is seeking a Logistics Coordinator for a 6‑month fixed‑term contract to lead a structured logistics framework supporting a humanitarian mission across field bases and the capital.

You will implement supply chain strategy, ensure procurement and transport compliance, manage the logistics team, coordinate with Headquarters, and represent the organization with partners and local authorities.

Formación

PUI has been addressing humanitarian needs in Venezuela since 2019. The organization delivers its interventions through an integrated approach encompassing health, nutrition, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), protection, and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).
PUI coordinates its programmes within the humanitarian cluster system, establishing multisectoral partnerships with both national and international NGOs. Projects are implemented in densely populated and vulnerable urban areas, as well as in remote rural and Indigenous communities, supporting both fixed and mobile health clinics.

What about the Logistics Coordinator?

As Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for the mission’s implementation of an appropriate and well-structured logistics framework built around an efficient supply chain and properly scaled support logistics systems. You will ensure the application of, and compliance with, PUI’s logistics policies, rules, procedures, and best practices across both field bases and the capital.

For this purpose, you will be responsible for:

• Supply Chain: You will actively contribute to the implementation and coordination of the mission’s national supply chain strategy. You will ensure that both the administrative and operational components of the supply chain are in place and fully functional. You will guarantee compliance with PUI procedures, policies, processes, and tools related to procurement, transport, and warehousing. You will also ensure strong coordination with Headquarters to prevent delays, losses, and gaps within the HQ-to-field supply chain.
• Support Logistics Management: You will ensure that all teams are provided with the means, resources, and tools required to successfully carry out their activities. You will actively contribute to the proper sizing of the mission in terms of materials, equipment, infrastructure, and services necessary for the efficient functioning of all bases.
• Security: You will ensure that the necessary systems, resources, and frameworks are in place for the implementation of security rules related to communications, movements, and facility management.
• Team Management: You will be responsible for structuring the Logistics Department and validating job descriptions for team members. You will directly manage staff under your supervision in accordance with HR policies and procedures, from recruitment through to performance evaluation.
• Strategy: You will adopt a proactive approach and oversee the mission’s logistics strategy, including supply chain, support logistics, and operational logistics activities, in close coordination with Headquarters and the Coordination team.
• Coordination: You will centralize, consolidate, and share logistics-related information and reporting across the mission, including bases, coordination level, and Headquarters.
• Representation: You will represent the organization in forums and with partners, authorities, and other local stakeholders involved in logistics-related matters.

The challenges that await you:

Crisis Management – Earthquake The main objectives of this mission include: Assessing immediate needs. Launching emergency response activities. Redesigning PUI’s response strategy in the aftermath of this natural disaster.

What you will need to succeed

• TrainingYou hold a Bachelor’s or Master‘s degree in logistics (purchases, transport, etc.)
• ExperienceStrengthened by minimum 2 years of Logistics Experience in Humanitarian Sector, you also have a general management experience. You already worked with Première Urgence Internationale? It would be a definite asset!
• SkillsYou demonstrate strong management, organizational, report drafting and ICT skills. You have a high level of knowledge of procurement and supply chain in Humanitarian Context. Experience in Medical Supply Chain and customs/importation will be appreciated.
• QualitiesYou demonstrate ability to take the initiative and take responsibility in a proactive approach. You are a good negotiator and communicator, both in writing and orally. You demonstrate good team spirit, leadership, sense of analysis, good organization, ability to adapt and to delegate. You have a strong capacity to resist stress and particularly in unstable circumstances.
• LanguagesEnglish has no secrets for you! All the better, it is mandatory for this position. If you speak Spanish, Arabic and/or French, it would be a definite asset.

• Monthly Gross Income:2650,00 – 3130,00EUR depending on your experience in International Solidarity + 50€ per semester of seniority with PUI
