What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Collaborate with the actuarial team to complete incurred but not reported (IBNR) estimates and rate adequacy studies
- Analyze results to identify trends or issues related to medical care costs
- Design and perform actuarial studies related to medical care costs and trends
- Generate and distribute routine reports to support IBNR calculations and financial reporting
- Assist in the preparation of claim experience reports, rate models, and state regulatory reports
What is Required (Qualifications):
- At least 1 year of actuarial experience, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
- At least 2 passing Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field
- Advanced understanding of statistics and predictive analytics
- Strong time‑management skills and ability to manage simultaneous projects to meet deadlines
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
- Understanding of insurance concepts and key actuarial terminology
- Demonstrated problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
