Job summary

The Lampeter-Strasburg YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic Zumba Instructor to lead a high-energy group fitness class on Thursdays from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. The role focuses on safe, enjoyable workouts that motivate members to get moving.

Ideal candidates will have CPR/First Aid certification and 1–2 years of group exercise experience, plus a commitment to YMCA values and ongoing certification. Benefits include free center access and program discounts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Must have CPR PRO/AED/First Aid certification before teaching the first class.
• 1–2 years experience in a group exercise class or classes.
• Complete Living our Cause within 1 month of hire.
• Within 3 months: Orientation to Healthy Living, Foundations of Listen First, Principles of Member Health and Wellness, Group Exercise at the Y, Foundations of Group Exercise (ACE).

Responsibilities

• Conducts a safe and effective wellness class for adults.
• Provide exercise modifications for safety and success.
• Builds authentic relationships with participants and staff.
• Attend required staff meetings and certifications.
• Maintain attendance records and equipment setup.
• Begin and end class on time and wear approved attire.
• Follow emergency procedures and complete incident reports.
