The Abilene Zoological Gardens is seeking an entry level Guest Services representative to deliver friendly customer service, assist with sales, and support daily operations. You will greet visitors, answer questions, process payments, and help with reservations and paperwork.

Responsibilities include handling calls, managing guest inquiries, supporting managers, and ensuring safety and smooth visitor flow in outdoor and indoor areas, including potential vehicle or equipment operation for ages

Formación

• Entry level position; prior customer service experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Texas driver’s license or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Food Handler's Permit or ability to obtain within 30 days.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

This position does not exercise supervisory duties.

Important And Essential Duties

• Greet and directs visitors to the Abilene Zoo as well as answer general questions.
• Provide administrative support for the Guest Service Managers and Assistant Managers.
• Assist with general customer services functions including answering guest inquiries, giving directions, providing information of zoo functions and activities.
• Process incoming and outgoing calls; process register payments, process reservation and visitation paperwork, attraction/ride/equipment operation, and food preparation.
• Maintain, inspect, clean, take inventory, and follow policies and procedures of assigned equipment, areas, and surrounding spaces.
• Assist with guest surveys and other reports.
• Guest Services employees over 18 years of age may operate a City vehicle and/or motorized equipment (trains, gators and golf carts).

Other Job Related Duties

May assist with other Guest Services operations.

Experience And Training Guidelines

For positions with more than one level, all listed requirements at the lower levels are required at the higher levels. Experience

This is an entry level position, but preference may be given to individuals with previous customer service experience.

Education/Training

A high school diploma, GED, or in the process of obtaining either is required.

License Or Certificate

A Texas driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within ninety (90) days of employment or a military waiver is required.

Food Handlers Permit or ability to obtain one within thirty (30) days of employment is require

Special Requirements

Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment:

• Bloodborne Pathogens training and HazCom training are required within 60 days of employment.
• Requires staff members to be a minimum of 16 years of age.
• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule that may include nights, holidays, and weekends
• Must be able to work in outdoor conditions and in extreme heat and cold.
