Job summary

Fort Worth Zoo is seeking a dedicated Nutritional Services team member to receive, prepare, and deliver food and supplies to animal buildings and exhibit areas. This position operates under supervision, advancing as knowledge grows.

Responsibilities include maintaining sanitation, receiving deliveries, preparing diets, and assisting with diet records, inventory, and routine lab work as needed. You will interact professionally with staff and assist with special projects.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• One year of food service experience or one year of working in a zoo facility.
• College coursework in biology, zoology, wildlife, nutrition, etc. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare and deliver food and supplies to animal areas daily.
• Follow sanitation protocols to maintain cleanliness.
• Receive items delivered to the Nutritional Services facility.
• Prepare various diets.
• Develop proficiency in routines and specialized procedures over time.
• Maintain equipment and report problems as needed.
• Communicate effectively with staff zoo-wide and follow the chain of command.
• Assist with diet, inventory, stocking and receiving records.
